Job summary

Clínica Romero in Los Angeles is seeking a Medical Scribe to assist physicians with EHR transcription using Ascribe and Epic. You will document patient encounters, maintain chart accuracy, and support clinic workflow in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

The position requires bilingual English/Spanish communication, knowledge of medical terminology, and experience with EMR systems. You will work closely with physicians to ensure timely documentation and data integrity while upholding HIPAA

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required.
• Experience scribing in outpatient clinic preferred.
• Ability to accurately document patient care and transcribe appointments.
• Detailed knowledge of medical terminology and ability to distinguish exams/diagnoses.
• Prior experience with electronic medical records preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• HIPAA familiarity and patient privacy awareness.

Responsibilities

• Assist provider by maintaining notes during patient visits and documenting them in the electronic health records system.
• Support physician with all patient visits to capture and transcribe medical information in the EMR.
• Work closely with the assigned physician to complete and submit all patient encounter records within the expected timeframe.
• Document thoroughly and monitor basic lab results and screening procedures.
• Communicate with patients and physicians professionally and effectively.
• Perform other duties to improve productivity and clinic workflow as assigned.
• Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and privacy standards.
• Assist with translation when necessary.
• Perform clerical duties as assigned.

Position Title: Medical Scribe

Department: Medical

Position reports to: Clinic Office Manager

As a vital member of the medical staff who will assist physician with EHR system using Ascribe to ensure accurate patient information is being transcribed. The responsibilities include collaborating with physician, operating EHR information using Epic system, performing clerical duties such as charting for provider appointments, and maintaining accurate patient data in the electronic file. The other duties include, anticipating the needs of the physician to ensure patient care is efficient, effective and in accordance with the core values of the organization.

Requirements and skills
