Massachusetts-based Medical Affiliates of Cape Cod is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the MACC Orthopedics practice. The role involves clinical tasks delegated by a supervising provider, managing schedules and patient flow, and ensuring accurate EHR documentation.

The position emphasizes patient greeting, vital signs, clerical support, and collaboration with clinicians. Must have MA certification and BLS; flexible to float between MACC sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certification from AAMA or NHA.
• Completion of post-secondary medical assisting program required for PCP Office (Preferred for Specialty Office).
• Basic Life Support Certification for Health Care Providers.

Responsibilities

• Assists in providing clinical care to office patients as delegated by supervising provider.
• Manages provider’s daily schedule and patient flow to expedite care and maximize clinical time.
• Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms, and checks two-patient identifiers.
• Obtains relevant information and takes vital signs as indicated (height, weight, blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation).
• Inputs pertinent clinical information into the electronic health record timely and with accuracy and collects home medication lists.
• Assists clinicians with clinical procedures and/or additional tests specific to the department; keeps patients informed of visit status and delays.
