Job summary

Bon Secours Orthopedics - Virginia Specialists Group is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support the primary care physician in delivering high-quality patient care within the Medical Assisting scope and state guidelines.

The CMA will update health records, measure vital signs, and prepare treatment rooms for examinations, while providing excellent customer service to patients and families in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED.
• Active Medical Assisting certification from one of the following (required): CMA, RMA, CCMA, NRCMA, NCMA, NCCT.
• ABR-OE acceptable if MA certification not obtained (not in SC).
• BLS Basic Life Support required at hire for certain locations; preferred prior to independent patient care at Bon Secours Mercy Health.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service by greeting patients and the community.
• Prepares & reviews patient charts for upcoming visits by verifying diagnostic test results and other medical records.
• Measures vital signs: pulse, respiration, blood pressure, weight, height.
• Performs clerical duties: inventory, stocking supplies, track referrals, answer phones.
• Troubleshoots and resolves problems promptly.
• Other duties as assigned.
