Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant to support outpatient care under RN supervision. You will interview patients, measure vital signs, document results, and prepare exam rooms for physician examinations.

Additional duties include triaging calls, scheduling, and patient education materials as needed. The role requires completion of an accredited medical assisting program, a high school diploma or equivalent, and CMA/CCMA or related certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program.
• One year patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures accurate calibrations, cleaning and scheduled maintenance of clinical/lab equipment.
• Maintains and reviews patient records and communicates care plan to patient.
• Prepares exam rooms and assists with examinations and procedures.
• Triages patients and manages phone calls and scheduling of appointments/referrals.
• Administers prescribed treatments and medications as directed by the physician.
