UNC Health in Chapel Hill, NC is seeking a certified Athletic Trainer to function in a physician extender role within Orthopaedics CP II. The role involves injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and reconditioning, with proper taping/bracing and execution of prescribed treatments.

It may operate as an embedded school-based team member when supervision is limited. Requires ATC certification and NC licensure eligibility (or licensure within 6 months), a Bachelor's degree, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline.
• Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) certification.
• Licensed as an Athletic Trainer by the North Carolina Board of Athletic Trainer Examiners or license eligible (within 6 months).
• BLS for healthcare providers.

Responsabilités

• Casting and patient care—casting patients, providing splints, braces, crutches and other DME and patient education.
• Disability cases—answering patient clinical calls and completing disability paperwork.
• Patient education—educate patients on home exercise programs and therapeutic exercise; communicate with patients and staff.
• Patient information—update history, review charts, and order appropriate tests when indicated.
