Job summary

UNC Health, based in Durham, NC, seeks a skilled athletic trainer to operate as a physician extender, handling injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and reconditioning. You will demonstrate taping/bracing, perform prescribed treatments, and function as an embedded team member in school settings when needed.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, ATC certification, NC licensure (or eligibility within 6 months), and BLS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline.
• Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) certification.
• Licensed as an Athletic Trainer by NC Board or license eligible.
• BLS for healthcare providers.
• One year of athletic trainer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Casting and patient care, providing splints, braces, crutches, and DME.
• Disability paperwork and timely clinical phone support.
• Educate patients on home exercise programs and therapy.
• Rooming and obtaining patient information for history and chart.
