Job summary

BMCHS is seeking a full-time Orthopedic Surgery Workers Compensation Specialist to support orthopedic patients with workers’ compensation injuries. You will handle clerical tasks, data processing, and scheduling, while acting as a liaison among patients, physicians, insurers and attorneys.

The role emphasizes document management, reporting, pre-authorization, and effective communication within the workers’ compensation framework. Boston-area candidates are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of clerical and insurance management experience.
• At least one year of workers' comp adjuster or case manager experience.
• Experience in the Orthopedic clinical setting is a plus.
• Workers Compensation Analyst certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and manage the internal workers’ comp program.
• Investigate and process workers’ compensation claims from initial evaluation to surgical/discharge phases.
• Communicate with employees, managers, insurers, providers, surgeons, attorneys and upper management on workers’ comp issues.
• Coordinate with Billing Director on claim investigations, settlements, and litigation.
• Close communications loops regarding claims processing, status, and denials.
