Ridgeview Medical Center in Minnesota is seeking a Nursing Assistant/Health Unit Coordinator to assist nursing staff with direct and non-direct patient care under RN direction. Responsibilities include documentation, admissions processing, and coordinating patient movement between units within the Orthopedic Institute Inpatient Care Unit.

The role supports the Orthopedic Institute, may involve pre/post-anesthesia areas, and could float to other medical-surgical units as needed.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.

Responsabilités

• Processes admissions, transfers, discharges in the electronic medical record per system and hospital requirements, and schedules appointments.
• Completes assigned clerical responsibilities, including restocking/ordering of supplies for unit.
• Coordinates the care and movement of the patient between other departments or locations; communicates pertinent information regarding unit/department activities to the appropriate staff.
• Under the direction of an RN, assists the nursing staff with direct and non-direct patient care functions.
• Obtains and articulates pertinent data in an objective manner.
• Documents the various aspects of care according to established policies and procedures on appropriate forms and records.
