Job summary

Ridgeview is seeking a Nursing Assistant/Health Unit Coordinator to support nursing staff in direct and indirect patient care at the Orthopedic Institute Inpatient unit. Responsibilities include EMR documentation, patient transport coordination, and coordination of unit activities.

The role requires a high school diploma and BLS certification (or within 90 days of hire); prior nursing assistant or HUC experience is preferred. The position may involve cross-unit coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification required (or obtained within 90 days of hire).
• Nursing Assistant license or HUC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process admissions, transfers, discharges in the EMR per requirements and schedule appointments.
• Complete assigned clerical tasks including restocking and ordering supplies for the unit.
• Coordinate patient movement between departments and communicate unit activities to staff.
• Assist the RN with direct and indirect patient care functions.
• Obtain and document pertinent data in an objective manner.
• Document care per policies and procedures on appropriate forms.
• Demonstrate competencies in Orthopedic Institute Inpatient unit.
• Assist with cleaning of designated items and equipment.
• Provide professional customer service to internal and external customers.
• Suggest opportunities for quality improvement and participate as appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
