Job summary

UNC Health Cary Orthopaedics invites a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join a surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement. The role blends OR and outpatient clinic work with growing independence, across Cary, Holly Springs, and Morrisville locations. New grads and experienced APPs are welcomed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
• Eligible for North Carolina licensure and appropriate national certification.
• Strong interest in orthopaedics and surgical patient care.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work across Triangle-area practice locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with hip and knee replacement procedures, including first assist and closure as appropriate
• Evaluate and manage preoperative and postoperative patients
• Provide patient education and coordinate care throughout the surgical journey
• Participate in clinic alongside the physician, with increasing independence based on experience
• Assist with postoperative rounding as needed
• Participate in shared office call
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nursing staff, and other members of the orthopaedic team
