Job summary

Cooper Norcross Health in Camden, NJ, is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to join our Joint Replacement team. This APP will provide comprehensive perioperative care and serve as a first assist in surgery.

You will conduct preop and postop evaluations, inpatient rounding, discharge planning, and postoperative education while collaborating with physicians, nursing, physical therapy, and case management.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree - Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is required.
• NJ Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner licensure and Board certification is required.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• First assist in the operating room for joint replacement procedures as appropriate.
• Conduct preoperative and postoperative patient evaluations.
• Perform inpatient rounding and manage postoperative care with the attending surgeon.
• Coordinate discharge planning and transitions of care.
• Provide patient education regarding surgical preparation, recovery expectations, rehabilitation, and postoperative precautions.
• Evaluate and manage routine postoperative concerns within scope of practice.
• Assist in optimizing clinic flow and improving patient access.
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nursing, physical therapy, case management, and ancillary services to provide coordinated care.
