Job summary

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is seeking an Ortho Technician to support physicians, nurses, and medical assistants in orthopedic care. You will assist in assessment, patient education, casts and splints, and post-operative care in an outpatient setting.

Responsibilities include preparing exam rooms, performing vital signs, assisting with procedures, and coordinating follow-up with providers. A two-year orthopedic outpatient background and OTC/BLS certifications are required, with OTC completion

Qualifications

• Two or more years of outpatient orthopedic experience is required.
• OTC certification from NBCOT must be obtained within 180 days of start date.
• BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician, NP or PA in assessment and care of orthopedic patients.
• Set up exam/procedure rooms and take vital signs as needed.
• Prepare for surgical procedures and assist in operating room per policy.
• Apply/remove casts, splints, slings, and immobilization devices.
• Coordinate follow-up scheduling and relay significant findings to the MD.
