Southeast Orthopedic Specialists in St. Augustine, FL is seeking an Orthopedic Technician to provide hands-on patient care, applying casts and splints, dispensing DME, and supporting physicians while keeping the clinic organized and efficient.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; completion of orthopedic tech program preferred.
• Minimum one year of relevant experience in a medical facility preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, ability to educate patients effectively, and proficiency in inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Apply and adjust fiberglass casts, splints, and orthopedic traction equipment per physician orders.
• Educate patients on proper care of casts, splints, and DME items.
• Maintain knowledge of clinic DME products and indications for use.
• Keep accurate logs and spreadsheets as required by the department.
• Place supply orders according to calculated par levels and clinic needs.
• Collaborate with the Authorization Team to determine patient financial responsibility and communicate with patients.
• Organize and stock received inventory efficiently.
• Monitor inventory levels daily to ensure clinic readiness.
• Report new usage trends to the Practice Manager.
• Assist in other areas of the clinic as needed.
