Job summary

Southeast Orthopedic Specialists, LLC is seeking an Orthopedic Technician to join our full-time team in St. Augustine, FL. You will apply casts and splints, dispense DME, and support physicians while keeping the clinic organized and efficient.

The role emphasizes patient education, accurate record-keeping, and collaboration with the Authorization Team to determine financial responsibilities. High school diploma or GED is required, with preferred orthopedic tech or medical assisting training.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of Sports Medicine, Orthopedic Technician, or Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Experience: Minimum one year in a medical facility preferred.
• Skills: Detail-oriented, organized, able to educate patients effectively, inventory management proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Apply and adjust fiberglass casts, splints, and traction equipment per physician orders.
• Educate patients on proper care of casts, splints, and DME items.
• Maintain knowledge of clinic DME products and indications for use.
• Keep accurate logs and spreadsheets as required by the department.
• Place supply orders according to calculated par levels and clinic needs.
• Collaborate with the Authorization Team to determine patient financial responsibility and communicate with patients.
• Organize and stock received inventory efficiently.
• Monitor inventory levels daily to ensure clinic readiness.

GENERAL SUMMARY
