Job summary

BMCHS is seeking an Orthopedic Technician to provide administrative and patient care support in the Orthopedic Clinic. Responsibilities include casting procedures, patient instruction, and managing registration and scheduling under supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, relevant orthopedic or medical training, and at least two years of experience. The position is full-time with a 40-hour workweek, 8:30am–5pm, on site.

Qualifications

• High School education or GED required.
• Orthopedic Technology program, Medical Assistant program, military medic training, or at least one year allied health coursework.
• At least two years of previous work experience.
• Experience with cast and traction setup preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with applying and removing casts, splints and braces.
• Instruct patients on use of crutches and traction under supervision.
• Greet and register patients; gather information for registration and scheduling.
• Verify demographic information and assist in facilitating patient access to services.
