Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking an Orthopedic Technician to support both patient care and administrative tasks in the Orthopedic Clinic. Responsibilities include assisting with casts, splints, braces, crutch instruction, appointment scheduling, and patient information verification.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and completion of an Orthopedic Technology or Medical Assistant program (or equivalent training) with at least two years of related experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Orthopedic Technology or Medical Assistant program, or military medic training, or at least one year allied health coursework (incl. A&P).
• At least two years of previous work experience; casting/traction experience preferred.
• Must pass clinical competency testing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with applying/removing casts, splints, and braces.
• Instruct patients in use of crutches and traction.
• Collect patient information for registration and schedule appointments.
• Verify demographics and facilitate access to services.
