Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth, NH is seeking an Orthopedic Tech to support our Plymouth Orthopedics & Sports Medicine practice. You will measure, apply, change, repair and remove casts, braces and splints for patients, and instruct them in using durable medical equipment.

Responsibilities include preparing patients for exams, maintaining clean rooms, documenting vital signs, and reporting changes to providers.

Qualifikationen

• High school graduate with medical experience.
• Certified by the National Association of Orthopedic Technologists (NAOT).
• BLS/AHA certification.
• Proficient in applying casts, splints and braces.
• Typing and computer skills; experience with EMR systems.

Aufgaben

• Measure, apply, change, repair, and remove casts, braces and splints for patients.
• Apply and instruct patients in the use of durable medical equipment.
• Remove dressings, sutures and staples.
• Prepare patients for exams and special procedures and cleans rooms between each patient encounter.
• Identify and report changes in patient status to Advanced Practice Provider or Physician.
• Initiate CPR and emergency measures as required.
• Ensure supplies are stocked and equipment is in safe working order.
• Demonstrate accurate and descriptive clinical documentation.
• Obtain and document patient’s weight, vital signs and initial information for providers as assigned.
• Conduct initial assessment of patients with orthopedic pathology. Present case to Advanced Practice Providers or Physician.
• Assist with sterile prepping for aspirations and injections.
