Job summary

Mass General Brigham at Tuscan Village in Salem, NH, is seeking a Full-time Orthopedic Tech/Medical Assistant to support our Orthopedic suite onsite from Monday to Friday. Shifts rotate 8:30am-5:00pm and 7:30am-4:00pm, with 40 hours weekly.

The role combines medical assisting with orthopedic tech duties, including DME support and patient care. The ideal candidate has 2-3 years of orthopedic patient care experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work with a diverse team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• 2-3 years of related patient care experience in orthopedics is required.
• BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) from any issuer is preferred.
• Orthopedic Technologist Certification (OTC) from NBCT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and apply traction per standard procedures.
• Assist with application of casts, braces, and prostheses; requisition, store, and dispense supplies.
• Inspect and maintain orthopedic equipment.
• Instruct patients in cast care, simple exercises, and crutch/cane use; apply dressings.
• Make splints, slings, and foot pieces.
• May rounds with doctors and carry out instructions.
• Cut and fashion devices from metal, plastic, leather and wood.
