Job summary

Dignity Health Medical Group in Chandler, AZ is seeking an Ortho Tech to assist orthopedic specialists with casts, splints and braces, supporting patient recovery and comfort. You will prepare patients, educate on device care, and ensure comfort during applications and removals, while maintaining equipment and documenting interactions in the medical record, all per hospital protocols.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED + Medical Assistant program or military medical training.
• Six months of Orthopedic Tech casting, splinting and bracing experience.
• Experience with computer programs for checking-in and scheduling patients.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support - BLS.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and educate on device care.
• Assist during cast, splint, and brace applications and removals.
• Maintain equipment and document interactions in the medical record.
• Document clinically relevant findings in the patient’s record.
• Monitor and record vital signs as directed by RN instructions.
• Retrieve necessary equipment and supplies.
• Follow hospital protocols for specimen handling and procedures.
