Job summary

SCA Health in Arlington, TX seeks a Medical Assistant to support physicians and clinical staff, prepare exam rooms, document histories, and assist with procedures. You will work with EMR systems, coordinate imaging, and help manage patient flow in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

The ideal candidate has CMA/RMA certification, 2–3 years in a clinical setting (orthopedic/surgical a plus), and strong communication skills. HIPAA/OSHA compliance and bilingual abilities are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Medical Assistant program (CMA/RMA) completion preferred.
• 2–3 years of clinical experience; orthopedic/surgical experience a plus.
• Proficiency in EMR systems and basic computer applications.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and assist providers with patient examinations and minor procedures.
• Record patient histories, vital signs, and chief complaints in the EMR.
• Apply and remove orthopedic devices under supervision.
• Provide patient education on preoperative and postoperative care and medications.
• Assist with in-office imaging coordination (X-rays, MRIs) and follow-up.
• Maintain clean and well-stocked exam rooms and clinical areas.
• Perform administrative duties including scheduling, phones, and records.
• Ensure HIPAA and OSHA compliance.
• Support surgical scheduling and pre-operative preparation as needed.
