Job summary

SCA Health in Arlington, TX is seeking a Medical Assistant with orthopedic or surgical experience to support clinicians and patients in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

You will prep exam rooms, assist with examinations, record histories in the EMR, coordinate imaging, and help with scheduling while ensuring HIPAA and OSHA compliance. Bilingual candidates are a plus, CMA/RMA training preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• CMA/RMA certification or completion preferred.
• 2-3 years of clinical experience, orthopedic or surgical setting a plus.
• Proficiency in EMR systems and basic computer applications.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and assist providers with examinations and minor procedures.
• Record patient histories, vital signs, and chief complaints in the EMR.
• Apply and remove orthopedic devices under supervision.
• Educate patients on preoperative and postoperative care and medications.
• Assist with in-office imaging coordination and follow-up.
• Maintain clean and stocked exam rooms and clinical areas.
• Handle scheduling, phone calls, and patient records.
• Ensure HIPAA and OSHA compliance.
• Support surgical scheduling and pre-operative preparation as needed.
