• Board certification by NCCPA is required.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a Surgical First Assistant in the Operating Room.
• Positions and drapes the patient under the direction of the surgeon.
• Suturing and retracting all tissue layers.
• Assists in intra-operative patient care by performing technical duties as assigned.
• Performs comprehensive and problem-focused histories and physical examinations.
• Rotating on-call responsibilities.

Job Overview

AP Health is seeking a highly experienced Physician Assistant to join our team in the greater Nashville, TN area. A successful candidate would have at least 2+ years of experience in orthopedic surgery. This job is strictly a surgical only position with no clinic time. What will you do:

• Functions as a Surgical First Assistant in the Operating Room
• Positions and drapes the patient under the direction of the surgeon
• Suturing and retracting of all tissue layers
• Assists in the intra‑operative care of the patient by performing technical duties as assigned
• Perform comprehensive and problem‑focused histories and physical examinations
• Rotating on‑call responsibilities

What do you need:

• 2+ years experience functioning as a surgical first assist in orthopedic surgery, specifically in joint cases
• Current TN State License
• Board certified by NCCPA
• Active BLS and ACLS
• Comprehensive and flexible medical, dental, and vision insurance
