Job summary

Ascension Seton Georgetown in Texas is seeking a Physician Assistant or APRN for the Orthopedic Surgery Department. This is a great opportunity to provide medical services to patients in the Austin area, joining an established team in an outpatient setting.

The role involves comprehensive patient histories, physical assessments, and preventative screenings to build an accurate health picture, with supervision by physicians and clear treatment plans to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire date or transfer date.
• Licensed Physician Assistant credentialed from the Texas Medical Board prior to hire date.
• Certified Physician Assistant credentialed from the NCCPA prior to hire date.
• Advanced Life Support is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct care by taking patient histories, performing physical assessments and preventive screenings.
• Formulate treatment plans by ordering and interpreting diagnostics and ensuring timely intervention.
• Manage ongoing health conditions through direct therapeutic interventions and thorough documentation.
• Counsel patients and families on prevention, treatment options and community resources.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Physician Assistant credentialed from the Texas Medical Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Certified Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program. Master's degree preferred.

Work Experience

• 1 year of experience preferred.
