Leading the future of health care
The Permanente Medical Group is seeking a full-time fellowship-trained Orthopedic Upper Extremity surgeon to join our collegial and well-established team in Santa Rosa, CA. TPMG provides a competitive salary, excellent benefits, and opportunities for teaching, research, and leadership in a physician-led organization committed to quality care and work-life balance.
Our Santa Rosa Orthopedics department is a very collaborative and teamwork-focused group, a standout feature of this medical center. Being community and family connected is a priority to the team, so work-life balance is a highlight.
The group equally shares what will now be a 1:10 call schedule. We are not a trauma designated hospital, but see a fair amount of community level trauma, a significant portion of which involves the upper extremity. Replantation and microvascular surgery are not expected or routinely performed here, as we have higher volume regional referral centers for this level of care. There is a separate Physical Medicine department that specializes in nonoperative musculoskeletal care. Spine and foot and ankle surgery are not part of this practice even during general orthopedics call, as these are managed in different departments. We have 8 Orthopedic PAs working closely with the team to support the providers, along with MAs, orthopedic/cast technicians, and more. Leadership opportunities, surgical mentorship, and opportunities to work with other surgeons on complex cases as the practice matures are available.
Santa Rosa is close enough to the big city life, while being more affordable, family centered, and community based. Surgeons in this group live across the North Bay, including Novato, Petaluma, Santa Rosa, Sebastopol, and Healdsburg. The coast is approximately a 30-minute drive. Outdoor activity opportunities are plentiful with state/county parks being tightly integrated into the city, and the vast region of Redwoods a short drive away.
Our ideal candidate would be interested in the full upper extremity to include some open humerus/shoulder surgery including arthroplasty if desired. However, we would also be very interested in meeting any surgeons interested in a hand-to-elbow type practice.
The Permanente Medical Group, Inc. is one of the largest medical groups in the nation with over 10,000 physicians, 21 medical centers, numerous clinics throughout Northern and Central California and an 80-year tradition of providing quality medical care.
