Job summary

The Permanente Medical Group, Inc. (South Sacramento) seeks a fellowship-trained orthopedic hand/upper-extremity surgeon to join a collegial team.

The role offers teaching, research, and leadership opportunities within a physician-led organization focused on quality care and work-life balance. Expect an elective and non-elective upper-extremity focus, collaboration with skilled teams, and a reasonable OR schedule with on-call trauma coverage.

Qualifications

• Fellowship-trained orthopedic hand/upper-extremity surgeon.
• Board certification or eligibility in orthopedics.
• Must be eligible for CA medical license.

Responsibilities

• Upper extremity surgical focus for elective and non-elective cases.
• Collaborative model with physician assistants and surgical assistants.
• Two days per week of OR time; call ~1 in 9 with trauma coverage.
• Supportive infrastructure for outpatient care and surgical coordination.

Job description

TPMG is seeking a fellowship-trained Orthopedic Hand/Upper Extremity Surgeon to join our collegial team in South Sacramento. Position Highlights

1. Team Composition: after this hire 9 surgeons (3 Hand/Shoulder/Elbow, 2 Total Joint (hips/knees), 2 Sports, 2 Trauma)

2. Collaborative Model: Work closely with 2 experienced Physician Assistants and dedicated specialized Surgical Assistants

3. Surgical Focus: Upper Extremity, both elective and non-elective. Hand/elbow/shoulder expertise HIGHLY desired

4. OR Time: eventual goal 2 days per week

5. Call Schedule: ~1 in 9 (Level 2 community trauma)

   Dedicated trauma room time available staffed by Trauma Orthopedic Surgeons to place cases picked up on call the next day or later
