Job summary

Alameda Health System is seeking an Orthopedic Surgeon to provide surgical and non-operative care for patients at Highlands Hospital, San Leandro Hospital and Alameda Hospital. Employment is through Alameda Health Medical Group with on-site responsibilities across three facilities.

The ideal candidate will be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery, possess a California medical license and a valid DEA number.

Qualifications

Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) required.
Completion of an approved residency in orthopedics.
Board Eligible or Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery.
Valid license to practice medicine in the State of California.
Valid DEA Number.

Responsibilities

Evaluates, diagnoses and treats diseases and injuries to the musculoskeletal system.
Orders and interprets musculoskeletal diagnostic imaging tests.
Counsels patients in both non-operative and operative modalities to treat Orthopedic pathology.
Performs patient evaluation and treatment in both the ambulatory and hospital setting.
Supervises and participates in education of APP's, residents and medical trainees.
Documents in the electronic medical record accurately and in a timely manner.
Provides on-call coverage as agreed upon between the bargaining organizations.
Maintains continuing medical education based on the requirements of the Orthopedic Board.
Upholds the policies and procedures of the medical staff guidelines.
Conducts themselves in a professional and respectful manner.
Performs additional tasks as needed to facilitate patient care.
