Job summary

The Anesthesiologist will provide services for Alameda Health System, under employment from Alameda Health Medical Group. Services will be on-site at Highland Hospital, San Leandro Hospital and Alameda Hospital.

The role requires MD, completed residency in Anesthesiology, CA medical license and DEA license, with board eligibility and expected board certification on schedule. Compensation is hourly with robust benefits and a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Education: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.).
• Completion of approved post-graduate residency training in Anesthesiology.
• Board eligible in Anesthesiology; Board Certification expected on schedule.
• Valid license to practice medicine in the State of California.
• Valid DEA license.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate perioperative care and consultations across inpatient, OR, procedural, and outpatient settings.
• Deliver patient care using a collaborative team-based model.
• Attend department meetings and continuing education programs.
• Educate mid-level practitioners, nursing and staff.
• Serve as a professional role model for trainees and staff.
• Facilitate smooth transitions from outpatient to hospital care with timely discharge summaries.
• Support quality, cost controls, and standardization initiatives with AHS.
• Communicate status to referring/admitting physicians and families.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
