Qualifications

• Hold and maintain a current Arizona license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
• BSN preferred; BLS is required; ACLS preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years of hospital experience, orthopedic/spine preferred.
• Must be passionate about patient education and care coordination.
• Ability to analyze data and participate in outcomes reporting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the patient’s care plan through assessment of physical, educational, and psychosocial needs.
• Serve as essential liaison between patients and healthcare providers.
• Support care continuum before surgery and after discharge.
• Schedule preadmission testing and coordinate tests and clearances.
• Relay PAT results to the ordering physician and verify health history.
• Review records to ensure appropriate orders and clearances prior to surgery.
• Use nursing judgment to refer patients to a hospitalist for high‑risk cases.
• Provide preoperative instructions during prescreening and education classes.
• Facilitate follow‑up calls to promote discharge instruction adherence and care coordination.
• Participate in QAPI activities and EDGE requirements.
