Job summary

GeBBS Healthcare Solutions is seeking a skilled ICD-10-CM/CPT/HCPCS coder specializing in Same Day Surgery for orthopedic procedures. You will ensure accurate coding for professional and facility services in a single-pathway workflow, maintaining high quality and productivity.

Qualifications include at least 3 years of same-day surgery coding experience, AHIMA or AAPC certifications such as CCS/CPC/COC/RHIA/RHIT, and familiarity with Epic and 3M Encoder.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of recent Same Day Surgery coding experience.
• Extensive experience coding Orthopedic Surgery procedures.
• Experience coding both professional and facility services in a single-pathway workflow.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT/HCPCS, and modifier assignment.
• Familiarity with NCCI edits and OPPS/APC reimbursement methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Review outpatient same day surgery medical records and supporting documentation.
• Assign accurate ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes, CPT/HCPCS procedure codes, modifiers, and applicable facility coding elements for both professional and facility billing.
• Code a wide variety of orthopedic surgical procedures, including arthroscopy, joint procedures, spine, hand, foot and ankle, fracture repairs, and other musculoskeletal surgeries.
• Ensure accurate modifier assignment and compliance with NCCI edits and payer guidelines.
• Review and reconcile charges to support complete and compliant charge capture.
• Identify documentation opportunities and communicate coding clarification needs when appropriate.
• Maintain established productivity and quality standards.
• Stay current with coding updates, payer policies, and regulatory changes impacting outpatient surgery services.
