Job summary

UNC Rex Healthcare is seeking a part-time Clinical Nurse on the 6 West Orthopedic Unit in Raleigh, NC. You will provide competent nursing care and coordinate patient care using the nursing process in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role requires NC RN licensure, BLS certification, and at least one year of nursing experience. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and participate in ongoing professional development and patient education.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• If hired after January 6, 2014, must be enrolled within four years and obtain a Bachelor's or Master's in Nursing within seven years.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• One year of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Education: identifies learning needs and attends programs; assesses readiness and learning level of patient/family/caregivers.
• Evaluation of Care: identifies expected outcomes and collaborates with the team to adjust the plan.
• Implementation: delivers care for complex patients; follows policies; prioritizes tasks and consults as needed.
• Leadership: supports professional growth, collaborates interdepartmentally, and promotes cost-effective care.
• Patient Assessment: analyzes data to determine care priorities and discharge planning needs.
• Planning: coordinates plan of care with family and multidisciplinary resources.
• Research: reads studies and discusses applicability with the team.
