Job summary

OrthoCarolina is seeking a Radiology Technologist for the Fort Mill, SC 12-Hr Orthopedic Urgent Care team. The role averages 30 hours per week with alternating three 12-hour shifts and two 12-hour shifts across two weeks.

The Radiology Technologist will provide diagnostic radiographs while protecting patients and staff from unnecessary radiation, following safety standards and department policy.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program approved by the ARRT and AMA.
• Minimum of one year experience as an x-ray tech with an orthopedic background.
• Current CPR certification recommended.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competency in positioning of all radiological procedures as prescribed by departmental policy.
• Communicates with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, confirm acknowledgment of patients' understanding and address any questions or concerns.
• Positions patients and selects exposure factors for various radiologic examinations and provides radiation protection and safety in accordance with prescribed methods.
• Logs radiological procedures completed, processes charges and related paperwork using computer equipment as directed.
• Maintains cleanliness of examination rooms and stocks necessary medical and/or radiological supplies in the department.
• Compliance with all OrthoCarolina policy and procedures.
• Assists with the transportation of patients between the examination module(s) and the Radiology department.
• Assist with patient flow in the examination module(s) as directed by a supervisor.
