Job summary

Twin Cities Orthopedics in Blaine, MN is seeking a Physician Assistant to provide first assist in surgery and clinic exposure under physician supervision. This full-time, on-site role supports our Blaine location within the i-Health network.

Responsibilities include operating room assistance, wound care, cast management, patient management planning, pre/post-op orders, and prescribing medications. Minnesota licensure and NCCPA are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• NCCPA certification.
• Minnesota Board of Medical Practice registration/license.
• DEA registration.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon in operating room (pre-surgery planning, positioning, instrument checks, assisting in procedures, wound closure).
• Perform therapeutic procedures such as splinting, casting, suturing and wound care.
• Apply, remove, modify and adjust casts and dressings; remove sutures.
• Implement patient management plans, record progress, and assist in provision of care.
• Pre op/post op orders, rounding and call, as required by supervising Physician.
• Prescribe medications.
• Occasionally participate in community functions relating to outreach events.

Education
