Job summary

The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics (CAO) is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA-C) to support orthopaedic surgeons in operating rooms and in patient care across our network. The PA will assist in preoperative and postoperative management and work with the care team to develop comprehensive plans of care.

Responsibilities include examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostics, therapeutic procedures, and patient instruction, with emphasis on continuity and quality care in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program is required.
• BLS Certification required.
• 2 years’ experience preferred.
• Experience with EMR and computer proficiency.
• Experience in Orthopedic or Primary Care settings.

Responsibilities

• Provides health care services to patients under the direction and responsibility of the assigned physician.
• Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data.
• Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x ray, ECG, and laboratory tests, and interprets results.
• Consults with physician when warranted to assess patient condition and treatment.
• Performs therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and managing infection.
• Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care.
• Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed regimens and health maintenance.
• Assist in operating room with designated duties per the credentials.
