Job summary

Hospital for Special Surgery in Florida seeks a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with musculoskeletal experience to join its orthopedic team. You will independently evaluate and manage patients, assist in surgeries, and coordinate perioperative care within outpatient and inpatient settings.

The role requires Florida licensure as PA or APRN, NCCPA or ANCC/AANP certification, DEA registration, and BLS/ACLS. Two years of musculoskeletal experience is preferred for this full-time position.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current and unrestricted Florida licensure as PA or APRN.
• NCCPA certification or ANCC/AANP equivalent.
• Current DEA registration or eligibility to obtain DEA registration.
• Active BLS/ACLS certification.
• Minimum 2 years musculoskeletal experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently evaluate and manage new and established patients with history-taking and examinations.
• Manage post-operative patients and monitor recovery outcomes.
• Serve as first assist in surgical procedures and provide perioperative care.
• Perform office-based orthopedic procedures including joint injections and aspirations.
• Coordinate inpatient orders and discharge planning with care teams.
• Deliver patient education and ensure a responsive patient-centered experience.
• Document encounters accurately in the EHR and maintain regulatory compliance.
• Participate in on-call, after-hours coverage and cross-coverage for APPs.
