Job summary

Landmark Medical Center, part of Prime Healthcare, in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, seeks an Orthopedic Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join its orthopedic team. This full-time, hospital-based position offers operative and outpatient duties with a collaborative surgical team.

The ideal candidate has orthopedic experience and AR NP/PA licensure, strong clinical skills, and a commitment to high-quality, compassionate care within a multidisciplinary setting.

Qualifications

• Current Rhode Island licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, as applicable.
• Graduation from an accredited PA or NP program.
• National certification appropriate to the provider’s discipline.
• Prior orthopedic clinical experience required; experience assisting in orthopedic surgery is strongly preferred.
• Experience with surgical patients, postoperative care, and outpatient follow-up is highly desirable.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to obtain and maintain hospital privileges and credentials consistent with the position.

Responsibilities

• Surgical assistance: assist orthopedic surgeons in the operating room with intraoperative support.
• Preoperative evaluations: conduct patient assessments and coordinate testing.
• Postoperative management: monitor recovery and plan follow-up care.
• Outpatient follow-up: conduct office visits and reinforce treatment plans.
• Clinical assessments: evaluate musculoskeletal conditions and injuries.
• Care coordination: collaborate with surgeons, nursing, PTs and others to ensure coordinated care.
