Job summary

Hand and Microsurgery Medical Group in San Francisco, CA is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to work closely with Dr. Gordon, managing independent clinic days and first assisting in surgery. No call, no weekends, a tight-knit team with direct access to the physicians you work with.

This clinic-only role offers structured hours across Mill Valley and Lower Pacific Heights, with on-site imaging, DME support, and opportunities to grow in a physician-led specialty practice.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ARC‑PA‑accredited PA program.
• Current NCCPA certification.
• California PA license by start date.
• BLS certification.
• NPI and DEA licenses (or eligible).
• ≥4 years orthopedic clinical experience; hand/upper extremity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain HPI and conduct focused orthopedic exams, develop diagnosis and treatment plans.
• Order and interpret diagnostics including in-office X-ray, referrals for MRI/CT, labs as indicated.
• Perform therapeutic procedures such as injections, basic suturing, wound care.
• Apply and manage splints/casts and dispense DME.
• Manage a full patient panel independently, escalate complex cases to the attending surgeon.
• Document plans and coordinate follow-up and referrals.
• Counsel patients on rehab, activity modification, DME use, medication adherence.
