Job summary

Cedars-Sinai Medical Care Foundation in California seeks an experienced Physician Assistant to join the Hand and Reconstructive Surgery team. This clinic-based role offers hands-on procedural care and occasional first-assist in the OR.

The PA will work closely with Orthopaedic Hand Surgeons and an established PA to support a high-volume outpatient practice, with strong teamwork, educational opportunities, and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
• Current, unrestricted California PA license.
• Current national certification as a Physician Assistant.
• Current DEA registration/certificate as required for the position.
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Minimum of one year of PA experience; orthopaedics/hand surgery preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient evaluation and management of hand, upper-extremity, and reconstructive surgical conditions.
• Perform histories, physical examinations, and develop safe, effective treatment plans within scope of practice.
• Assist with and independently perform in-office procedures and interventions within privileges and scope.
• Provide occasional first-assist support in the operating room.
• Initiate and provide care in accordance with established treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising physician.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, procedures, medications, recovery, and follow-up care.
• Review diagnostic studies; communicate findings and recommendations to the care team.
• Complete timely, accurate documentation in the electronic health record.
• Maintain clear communication with the supervising physician and multidisciplinary team.
• Collaborate across the practice to promote continuity, efficiency, and exceptional patient experience.
• Provide cross-coverage for other providers when needed.
