Job summary

OrthoVirginia is hiring a Medical Scribe to support orthopedic physicians by documenting patient encounters and coordinating referrals. You will gain hands-on experience with clinical notes, exam findings, and orders while supporting efficient clinic operations.

You'll work with a team of providers and staff, gaining exposure to EMR systems, medical terminology, and HIPAA standards in a fast-paced orthopedic setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or current enrollment in healthcare, science, or related field.
• Interest in pursuing a healthcare career.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and EMR systems (Epic a plus).
• Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Document patient encounters accurately in real time in the EMR.
• Capture patient histories, exam findings, assessments and plans.
• Enter provider-directed orders, referrals, imaging, therapies and services.
• Coordinate referrals and ensure efficient clinic operations.
• Support clinic operations and collaborate with clinical and admin teams.
