Job summary

EmergeOrtho is hiring Medical Assistants for the Triangle region in North Carolina. The role supports physicians, prepares patients for encounters, facilitates labs, and documents visits.

Mebane area office is actively seeking qualified candidates who are ready to contribute to patient care and workflow efficiency. The position emphasizes clinical duties under supervision, with focus on casting, lab tasks, paperwork handling, and strong communication with staff and patients.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent required.
• CMA Certification or equivalent certification preferred.
• Medical training or experience in casting or splinting preferred.
• Knowledge of lab/diagnostic tests and handling paperwork.
• Comfortable using email and Internet applications.
• Knowledge of practice management and word processing software.
• Working knowledge of managed care basics.
• Current CPR Certification.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and documents patient medical history including reason for visit and pertinent information.
• Prepares medical record information and X-Ray films for physician review.
• Assists with minor procedures such as suture removal, dressing changes, cast or splint applications.
• Obtains prior authorization for procedures, equipment, and medications as appropriate.
• Schedules tests and off-site diagnostic procedures per physician’s order.
• Communicates physician referral requests to appropriate staff for processing.
• Ensures timely communication of patient needs and test results to physicians.
• Replenishes supplies and maintains exam room per infection control guidelines.
