Michigan Orthopaedic Surgeons is seeking a contingent/part-time Medical Assistant for OPS Royal Oak, MI. The role supports clinicians, helps optimize patient flow, and ensures a positive patient experience through routine care and coordination.

The Medical Assistant will take vitals, prep exam rooms, assist during procedures, and handle telephone inquiries while maintaining accurate records and DME preparation as directed.

Responsibilities

• Direct patients to examination rooms during clinic days to ensure efficient patient flow.
• Collect specimens, sterilize instruments as needed, and remove staples, sutures, and external fixation devices as directed by the physician.
• Assist the physician with various procedures as required.
• Interview patients, measure vital signs, weight, and height, and accurately record this information in patient charts.
• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations.
• Draw injections, administer treatments, and perform routine laboratory tests.
• Enter patient and office data into computer systems to maintain accurate records.
• Instruct patients on caring for and managing casts, splints, dressings, and DME.
• Monitor and respond to patient messages effectively.
• Provide support on the clinical phone line for all patient-related clinical inquiries
