Job summary

Southeast Orthopedic Specialists in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Medical Assistant – In-Office Procedures to support providers and clinical staff in delivering safe, efficient patient care before, during, and after in-office procedures.

The role includes rooming patients, taking vitals, assisting with injections, maintaining sterile rooms, documenting in the EMR, and ensuring HIPAA-compliant, high-quality patient experiences in a fast-paced orthopedic setting.

Qualifications

Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or current LPN license is required.
Prior Medical Assistant experience is preferred.
Knowledge of sterile technique and infection control is preferred.
Experience with EMR systems and computer applications is a plus.

Responsibilities

Prepare patients for procedures, including rooming, vitals, and intake review.
Assist providers during in-office procedures and injections.
Set up and maintain sterile procedure rooms and supplies.
Follow sterile technique and infection control guidelines to support patient safety.
Document patient information accurately in the EMR system.
Prepare patient charts and clinic schedules prior to appointments.
Sterilize, restock, and manage procedure rooms and medical equipment.
Monitor inventory and communicate needs to leadership.
Respond to voicemails and provider requests promptly.
Maintain HIPAA compliance and deliver a professional patient experience.
Keep the clinical environment clean, organized, and safe.
