Job summary

OrthoAtlanta in Brookhaven is seeking an Orthopedic Medical Assistant to join a busy, physician-owned practice. You will escort patients to exam rooms, assist with dressing, and ensure comfort and privacy while delivering hands-on patient care.

Applicants should have a high school diploma and certification (CNA/CMA/Ortho Tech) with 1+ year medical office experience; Epic EMR experience preferred. A professional, organized, and confidential approach is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of a Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, or Certified Ortho Tech program (or equivalent).
• 1+ year of medical office experience preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records systems (Epic preferred).
• Positive attitude, strong organizational skills, and ability to multitask effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong sense of professionalism and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms, assist with dressing/undressing, and ensure comfort and privacy.
• Accurately review patient registration details, collect necessary forms, and complete EMR intake documentation.
• Prepare surgical orders, schedule lab tests and diagnostic procedures, obtain test results, and manage medical clearances for surgeries.
• Manage patient callbacks regarding messages, prescriptions, and referrals; monitor and respond to physician queues.
• Demonstrate proper fitting and usage of durable medical equipment (DME) like braces and soft goods when needed.
• Stay highly organized and detail-oriented to ensure every patient interaction is smooth and thorough.
• Remain calm and efficient in a busy, high-energy clinic setting.
• Communicate with professionalism, empathy, and clarity.
