Job summary

OrthoVirginia, the state's leading orthopedic care provider, seeks a Medical Assistant to join a collaborative team across our clinical sites. You will prepare exam rooms, welcome patients, obtain vitals, document history, and support physicians throughout visits in a fast-paced orthopedic setting.

You'll educate patients on post-care, coordinate follow-up and scheduling, and help ensure a smooth patient experience from arrival to discharge.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and ensure clinical areas are ready for patients and providers.

• Educate patients on orthopedic care and proper use of devices.
• Enter physician-directed orders for services like X-rays and therapy.
• Coordinate follow-up appointments, post-operative visits, and studies.
• Assist with surgery scheduling and pre/post-operative planning.
• Manage patient flow to support a smooth experience for patients and providers.
• Respond to patient calls and triage questions promptly.
• Maintain clean, organized exam and treatment rooms.
