Job summary

OrthoAtlanta is seeking an Orthopedic Medical Assistant / X-Ray Support to function primarily as a Medical Assistant while assisting with x-ray duties as needed. You will escort patients, review registrations, and manage EMR intake, plus coordinate labs, orders and surgical clearances in a fast-paced clinic.

You should be organized, professional, and empathetic, thriving in a collaborative healthcare team to deliver exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited CNA, CMA, or Ortho Tech program (or equivalent).
• 1+ year of medical office experience preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records systems (Epic preferred).
• Positive attitude, strong organizational skills, and ability to multitask.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Function primarily as a Medical Assistant while assisting with x-ray duties when needed.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and assist with dressing/undressing, ensuring comfort and privacy.
• Review patient registration details, collect forms, and complete EMR intake.
• Prepare surgical orders, schedule lab tests and diagnostic procedures, obtain test results, and manage clearances.
• Manage patient callbacks, prescriptions, referrals, and follow-ups with physician queues.
• Demonstrate proper fitting and use of DME like braces and soft goods when needed.

What You'll Do

As an Orthopedic Medical Assistant / X-Ray Support at OrthoAtlanta, you'll:

• Primarily function in a Medical Assistant capacity while also assisting with x-ray duties when needed.
• Guiding Patients : Escort patients to exam rooms, assist with dressing/undressing, and ensure comfort and privacy
• Gathering Information : Accurately review patient registration details, collect necessary forms, and complete EMR intake documentation
• Coordinating Care : Prepare surgical orders, schedule lab tests and diagnostic procedures, obtain test results, and manage medical clearances for surgeries
• Communication and Follow-Up : Manage patient callbacks regarding messages, prescriptions, and referrals; monitor and respond to physician queues
• DME Support : Demonstrate proper fitting and usage of durable medical equipment (DME) like braces and soft goods when needed
