Job summary

Atlantic Medical Group in Morristown, NJ, is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant I for a full-time 8am-4pm shift in Orthopedic Surgery. You will handle patient intake, record vital signs, manage records, and support the care team in a fast-paced surgical setting.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, national CMA certification, and 1-3 years in health care; CCMA certification from approved bodies is required. Preferred: Associate's degree in Medical Care or related field.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• National Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
• 1-3 years of experience in health care services.
• National Certification CCMA from listed certifying bodies is required.
• Preferred: Associate's degree in Medical Care or related field.

Responsibilities

• Handles patient intake, updates medical records, and administers screening tools.
• Records medical information and test results, takes vital signs, collects specimens, and administers medication under physician supervision.
• Assists with walk-in and scheduled clinic visits and ensures data is accurately recorded.
• Monitors accreditation readiness and evaluates the practice schedule for changes or updates.
• Demonstrates knowledge of CMA scope of practice and holistic, patient-centered care.
• Guides patients through the health care system and helps them arrive on time for appointments.
• Provides emotional support related to the patient’s clinical situation as per the plan of care.
• Assists with referrals to appropriate specialists for diagnosis or treatment.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
