Job summary

The Cast Technician at Shriners Children’s Palmdale will support physicians and clinicians in the application, maintenance, and removal of casts, splints, traction, and other orthopedic devices.

This role may perform limited patient assessments, contribute to documentation, assist in clinic flow and patient education, and function as a Medical Assistant depending on departmental needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Orthopedic Technician experience required.
• Ability to assist physicians and clinical staff with casts, splints, traction and other devices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in application, maintenance and removal of casts, splints, traction and other orthopedic devices.
• Support patient care activities and clinic flow as needed.
• Maintain clear communication with patients, families and team.
