Job summary

The Cast Technician at Shriners Children’s Palmdale will support physicians and clinicians in the application, maintenance, and removal of casts, splints, traction, and other orthopedic devices.

Qualifications

This role may perform limited patient assessments, contribute to documentation, assist in clinic flow and patient education, and function as a Medical Assistant depending on departmental needs and qualifications. **Key Responsibilities:**### * Performs direct and indirect patient care activities within the scope of practice of an Orthopedic Technician* Performs casting, traction and Ilizarov services under the direction and supervision of an Attending Orthopedic Surgeon* Demonstrates open, accurate and timely communication with patients/families and interdisciplinary team members to ensure effective therapeutic intervention. Maintains competency, adheres to standards of practice, recognizes own learning needs to maximize professional development and optimal patient care **Required Qualifications:**High Scholl DiplomaOrthopedic Technician experience The pay range for this position is $30.64 - $43.26/hour. Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
