10 HOSP Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago seeks an Orthopaedic Technologist to assist surgeons and maintain equipment. The role involves applying and removing casts, managing inventory, and documenting medical records.
Qualifications include a high school diploma, BLS certification, and ideally, two years of related experience. The position offers an hourly pay range of $21.00–$32.55 along with comprehensive benefits, including medical insurance, paid time off, and a 403(b) plan.
Prepares and assists the orthopaedic surgeon, fellows/residents and nursing staff in the application and removal of orthopaedic appliances, casts, splints and other dressings. Has an advanced understanding of anatomical structures and their relationships with one another, and articulates descriptions of orthopaedic conditions. He/she is responsible for ordering, maintaining, and charging of orthopaedic equipment and supplies. The position actively supports the Hospital’s and the department’s Continuous Quality Improvement and Customer Service goals, through modeling of appropriate behavior and by providing a work environment conducive to attaining these goals. The role works primarily at the Lincoln Park outpatient center, with potential travel to satellite locations.
A high school education is required; two years of college or technical school preferred. Certification by the National Board of Certification of Orthopaedic Technologists preferred. Basic Life Support Certification required. Minimum of two years experience in a hospital splint or cast room or orthopedic physician’s office.
High School Diploma or GED (Required). BLS - Basic Life Support (American Heart Association).
Hourly: $21.00–$32.55. Pay range is regularly reviewed to stay aligned with market conditions. In addition to base salary, benefits described below include health, retirement, and other programs.
