Job summary

The National Sports Medicine Institute in Lansdowne, VA is seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer to provide autonomous clinical care in orthopedic sports medicine. The role includes clinic duties and operating room assist during surgeries, with primary responsibility for EHR, PACS imaging, and scheduling systems.

Responsibilities include taking vitals, presenting cases, assisting in procedures, coordinating imaging and therapy orders, and educating patients on rehab and return-to-sport plans.

Qualifications

• One year in a medical office or practice setting.
• Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience.
• Experience working with athletes across sports and activity levels.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document patient vitals and medical history.
• Present patient cases to providers with clear clinical communication.
• Apply and manage casts, splints, and braces as indicated.
• Educate patients on rehab plans and post-operative care.
• Assist providers during procedures and coordinate orders for imaging, PT, labs.
• Assist in surgery as a surgical first assistant under supervision.
