Job summary

UVA Health Orthopedics is seeking a Clinical Athletic Trainer to join a high-volume ambulatory team. You will work closely with orthopedic physicians, APPs, nurses, and the clinical staff to deliver hands-on care in a busy outpatient setting, focusing on casting and splinting, patient education, and improving clinic workflows.

Qualifications

• 1 year of Athletic Training experience required.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in Athletic Training or Exercise Physiology/comparable field.
• Athletic Trainer Certification (BOC), Virginia licensure, and BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and room patients; obtain histories and complete clinical intake.
• Assist providers with clinic flow and procedures; provide patient education.
• Apply braces/DME; assist with or perform casting and splinting once competency is met.
• Coordinate follow-up needs; develop relationships with providers and patients.
